Should You Use Headlights in the City?
Functions of Headlights:
-
Provide visibility at night or during poor weather.
-
Alert other drivers and pedestrians to your presence.
-
Indicate your driving intentions (turning, braking, reversing).
-
Improve safety at high speeds and in tunnels.
When to Use Headlights in the City:
-
At night: Use low beams to avoid dazzling others.
-
During rain, fog, or snow: Improves your visibility and makes your vehicle more noticeable.
-
In tunnels: Always turn on lights regardless of time of day.
Ukrainian Traffic Rules:
-
Low beams: Required at night or in low-visibility conditions.
-
High beams: Use only on open roads when no other vehicles are within 150 meters.
-

In a convoy.
-
On public transport in special lanes.
-
On buses transporting groups of children.
-
On oversized, agricultural, or hazardous cargo vehicles.
